You have heard that nasty, wayward comment before.  With you and your special someone being compared to Disney’s Beauty and the Beast - except that in your case, it’s clearly you whom people allude  to as the abominable fairytale character.

There’s no denying that your man feels the same for you. But can you really go through life enduring the reckless remarks from people who don’t really know you?  Will there be a way to show people that the disparity in your physical looks matter little to your level of compatibility and degree of  mutual affection?

Here are some ways so as not to be deeply bothered when your man is indeed prettier than you:

1. Believe in your man.

Faith in each other transcends  the physical boundaries of every loving relationship.  If you believe in love, no unfair comment can ever bring doubt to your heart.  Remember, he’s yours.

2.  Don’t ever feel that you don’t deserve him.

Be proud of your man. If he happens to be a person who’s blessed with good looks and charm, then so be it.  When you overhear people whisper comments, don’t feel guilty about it.  No law states that beautiful men should be exclusively paired with equally attractive ladies. Be thankful that you have a man who looks beyond the superficial norm of beauty. For being yourself, you’ve made yourself worthy of his deep affection.

3. Don’t be conscious about it.

Today, many men have become a lot vainer than their female counterparts.  They love to look good and flaunt it.  It’s not your fault to have a boyfriend who knows how to take care of himself.  And you can’t be faulted either for not keeping up with your man’s grooming skills.

4. Don’t change his ways.

It would be a mistake to alter your man’s grooming style and cheerful outlook only to suit your needs.  If his fashion statement completely eclipses that of yours and as a result he gets to be noticed more, don’t criticize him.  Unless he’s making a conscious effort to make you appear inferior to him in front of people, stand by his side.

5.  Glam yourself up.

If you can’t beat him, join him! Join in his habits of appearing better.  But never forget that you should improve for yourself more, although he will still have something to do with it.  Bottom line,  you owe it to yourself to look pretty.

You may not be of equal caliber to him as regards physical appearance but you can stand out in a crowd with your wit and intelligence. A magical transformation may not happen, but by putting serious effort into it, you can prove that you’re not in the relationship to simply be an embarassment to your man.
